BelCanto IGs began 12 years ago when my dream of owning an Italian Greyhound came true.  A 25th Wedding Anniversary gift, Allegro was our first IG and first show dog. 

Allegro is the inspiration for all that has happened in the past eleven years.  During that time the kennel has grown and we have worked to develop a line of our own, distinguished by beautiful type, correct conformation, excellent temperament and good health.

Showing our dogs in conformation remains our primary activity.  We enjoy traveling to shows, seeing our friends and competing in the ring.

Raising our puppies in our home is always a happy time for us.  The work that goes into the physical and mental development of our puppies is well worth the effort when the result is a beautiful, happy, confident show dog or wonderful pet.

Currently located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, raising, training and showing our dogs keeps us very busy.

  Our first papillon Ch Eternal Ballroom Dancer was a gift from friends Gabriel Valdez & Leyda Perez.  He was a wonderful show dog and teacher.  Dancer was retired to a pet home  He lives a wonderful life in Brazil with Luis de Oliveira at www.alternativas.com.br

Recently we have added two more of these irresistable dogs to our home.     While we are in the beginning stages of  learning the history, care and presentation of this lovely breed, we are relying on the experience of all our wonderful mentors and friends.   Again our primary interest is in conformation, but the willingness and intelligence of these beautiful little dogs may inspire us to try something new.  Plans for developing a line of our own are taking shape as we continue to learn the breed.
